We need your help!

Any company that thinks they know exactly what their customers want is a company that is run by arrogant dumb-asses. While we have no problem admitting that we can occasionally be those dumb-asses we are not arrogant enough to think we have all the answers, so here’s you chance to give us some help. It’s a real simple question but you can make your answer as brief or complex as you want and don’t hold back, we can take a little constructive criticism:

If you were in charge of Albe’s what would you do different?...and don’t just say, “give me free stuff” or “lower all your prices” or "send me beer", we can’t stay open that way and if we went out of business you would be very sad, admit it......or maybe you love us the way we are? You can tell us that, too.

Send your comments and suggestions to albes@albes.com  We'll wade through the e-mails and see if we can't impove and make even more of our friends / customers happy. We'll probably even offer some free stuff to some of you for your suggestions.

Where is my video camera??

 

Ever notice that when really cool / funny shit happens you don't have a video camera around or you just are to into the moment to use it? Guess how this ended. Stuntmen John Smith and Turbo in the nasty alley behind Albe's.

Turbo breaks the record....again!

Bar Spin Ben Over at Proper put up a good fight but Turbo (the Karate Kid of wheel builds) has come out ahead again and even does a stunt for Ben. Any other takers?? HAHAHA!

Sorry Eddie and Danny...

So over the summer at one of the Dew Tour stops Eddie from 50/50 BMX said he had heard we had some super fast, super good wheel builder at Albe's. He then asked how fast Turbo could lace and true a wheel. I really had no idea as we had never timed Turbo. He always built wheels spot on for everybody from Chad Kagy to Steve Mccann, to little Trevor down the street. So just to sound impressive I told Eddie that Turbo could lace and true a wheel in 19 min flat. Eddie must have been impressed because he put the 50/50 wheel guy, Danny Schmucker to work. After 6 months or so of trying to beat Turbo's petend record of 19 min Danny prevailed and built a wheel in 17min and 39sec. Pretty impressive! Danny and Eddie were so proud that they posted this feat of theirs on the 50/50 blog and called Turbo out. I don't think Turbo was ever worried.

Turbo!!!

Turbo, our head wheel builder has been building wheels for years to save up for a motorcycle.  He was getting close but in this economy he decided he should save a few bucks and get this guy instead.  Not quite the Harley he really wanted but still quite fun.

Side contest winners...

Yes....the photo from the side contest was non other than Mark Hilson.  Mark was one of the 4 original members of the Baco clan, pro flatlander, ex-skatepark owner and funny fellow.  He was here at Albe's a week or two ago checking in to say hi.  For those of you that knew your Midwest BMX history good work.  For those that didn't....maybe next time.  I said i'd pick 3 winners.
